back in those days

back in that particular day, in 1996, I met a french young girl, Elodi. She was only seventeen, but so was I. She was wearing a little short jeans, living and studying in New York City, and I was just visiting, taking some photographs. So I became friends with her and that night we met again, and I learned a lot about french and new yorker lifestyle, well, the most I could in one night.

Back in those days when the towers were still standing and there was no fear in the streets. Times have changed a lot since then, and that's too bad. New York City is not the same anymore. This is more than a photograph, this fraction of time is an archeological document of an old world that no longer exists.

I made this photograph with a Nikon F and Kodak Tri-X black and white film. The world has changed a lot since that sunny day in New York City.
